Fundraising and Event Tips & News
Get an early start on your 'Pink October' events!

The success of your Breast Cancer fundraising or educational awareness event is all in the planning!

Early planning and attention to details will avoid delays and additional stress. Remember that October is the busiest month for any company that offers breast cancer awareness merchandise, instructional or educational products, and pink ribbon related decorating supplies. Plan ahead and order early to avoid any possible delays.

It's all in the planning and details!

Make a List!

To stay organized, write your event plans down in a notebook that will be used exclusively for the details of the event !

Begin the process by selecting the date, time, location, and theme for your event. Then decide on the decorations you will need, refreshments and beverages to be served, entertainment to be provided, table products required (such as cups, plates, napkins, cutlery, tablecloths, etc.), any needed centerpieces, and appreciation gift bags.

If you are going to offer Breast Cancer Awareness merchandise for resale, informative educational materials, or products for raffle, select and order items at least 3-4 weeks in advance, to avoid any delays.

Keep detailed notes and record names, phone numbers, order confirmation numbers, or reservation numbers, and keep them in one area of your notebook for easy reference.

Tips for the Beginner!

If this is your first Breast Cancer Awareness event, survivor celebration, raffle, or rally, try to keep it SIMPLE!

A well planned, successful occassion will not only be remembered fondly, but will raise much needed funds for breast cancer research.

Talk to others that have had experience in fundraising. Experience is the best teacher and you can often obtain valuable advise from those who have experienced the situation first-hand!

A simple, well thought out plan will reduce the stress involved, too!

Don't be afraid to delegate responsibilty to others. Create a committe and assign each member to a section of the event (food, decorating, entertainment, etc.). Always follow up on the progress of each member and be ready to lend a helping hand, if needed!
